Outboard and tackle thefts reported in Bonner County
A Bonner County man on Oden Bay Road reported items stolen from his boat after dark Friday including fishing tackle poles reels cushions and oars valued around 365 with about 450 damage to the boat during an attempted loading theft. A six horsepower outboard motor was stolen from a dock in Hope in front of Mrs Monte Factor. A wallet containing money disappeared from an unlocked car on Fish Hatchery Road.

Campbell a 24 year old ex Sandpoint police officer turned himself in after a warrant issued on three counts of forgery He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance Campbell allegedly forged three checks belonging to Auto Hauls from a Lake Plaza Building burglary The Lake Plaza and Kwik Stop burglaries also involved stolen checks and cash Campbell says he signed the checks at home at the request of a juvenile and urged destruction of the instruments.

Idaho Awards First Steelhead Keeper Season Since 1974
The Idaho Fish and Game Commission approved a three month steelhead season Oct 1 to Dec 31 for the Snake Salmon and Clearwater rivers with catch and release on the Clearwater. The Snake upstream to the WA border remains closed. From the border to Hells Canyon Dam and on the Salmon fishing of one steelhead per day up to three per season is allowed with a one fish possession limit. Commissioner Will Godfrey opposed a 1-1-5 plan, preferring a three fish season total to avoid liberalizing the program.

Couple Injured In County Crash Near Wrenco Loop Road
A man and his wife Gary and Nancy Sass suffered injuries in a two car collision on East Wrenco Loop Road. They were taken to Bonner General Hospital with Sass later transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane where condition was listed as satisfactory. The other driver Daniel Frank Berman of Sandpoint and a passenger had minor injuries. No citations were issued and damage totals were about 3500 dollars.
