Health professionals reduce smoking among doctors dentists and nurses
A 1975 study shows physicians 21 percent, dentists 23 percent, pharmacists 28 percent, and nurses 3 percent smoke. Most health workers accept responsibility to quit public examples, with 91 percent of doctors and 87 percent of nurses agreeing. Fewer nurses quit by 1975 though, and overall male smoking declined from 52 to 39 percent since 1966 while women dropped from 34 to 29 percent.
