Lake Pend Oreille Could Rise Above Pool Level This Summer
Ken Coffman project director at Albeni Falls Dam says there is a 50 50 chance the lake will rise over pool level this summer. Water flows into the lake total 80 900 cubic feet per second while outflow is 66 200 cubic feet per second. The plant is shut and water runs freely through gates since April 22. Lake level at 8 am today was 2057.4. The rise is expected to taper before heavy run off.
