Opening fishing season sparks crowd on Idaho lakes
With opening day this Saturday May first crowds flood northern Idaho lakes. Trout season kicks in though most area waters remain open for all species except trout kokanee and coho. Sandpoint hosts Kamloops and Kokanee Days with prizes as Pend Oreille hosts Dolly Varden hope. Mercury tests show Idaho waterways within safe limits per FDA .5 ppm guideline across Pend Oreille Chatcolet and Coeur d Alene lakes.
