Lions Award Eight Members With Years of Service
Eight Lions Club members received year pins at the regular meeting held Monday night at the Trawlers. Al Abromeit and Gene Michaels earned 15 year pins, Bob Glock Glenn Rusk and Gene Chamberlain 10 year pins, and Dale Strecker Lee Mahler and Dick Andersen 5 year pins.

Idaho to Add New State Troopers After Training Program
Idaho State Police will conduct a two week recruit course at Idaho State University in Pocatello from April 20 to May 2 for at least a dozen new troopers. Lt. Frvin Dunn said the 3 1/2 hour course covers every law enforcement angle. The 40th Idaho Legislature authorized adding 10 troopers. two other candidates at the school are set to fill vacancies.

City Council Addresses Livestock Dogs and Junk Complaints
A large audience attended the city council meeting to discuss livestock within city limits dogs on leash and unsightly junk near homes. The tie up ordinance takes effect April 15 with pound impounds possible and a police officer may use a tranquilizer gun in extreme cases.
