National Medical Laboratory Week April 10 to 16 celebrates laboratory professionals who provide essential health services. The slogan Laboratory Science Serving You highlights the personal role of medical laboratories in patient care and disease detection.
The Kreeze Brothers evangelistic team from Everett Washington will appear at the Sandpoint First Baptist Church from April 17 to 24 at 7 30 p m nightly Their ministry has reached over fifty countries and they appear on radio and television They perform gospel music with multiple instruments and have two couples and a son in the group.
The NBC film Stand Up For America will be shown Tuesday April 12 during the Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce monthly meeting at the Elks Club. Local residents Mr and Mrs John Ford arranged the screening and members are urged to attend the noon luncheon with a guest.
Martin Albert V. Martin died March 30 1977 at age 55. Born Fraed Montana he moved to Idaho as a child and graduated from the University of Idaho. He served in the Marine Corps and married Ruth Masker. He worked 12 years at Washington State College as a mechanical engineer and is survived by wife Ruth three sons Ronald Kimberly and Glenn of Bellingham and his mother Nina Martin of Sandpoint temporarily in Bellingham.

Karen Krantzcke collapsed after a doubles match at the Lionell Cup tournament in Tallahassee and died of an apparent heart attack. She was 30, had recently split time between Sydney and New Braunfels, Texas, and received emergency CPR at the scene before hospital arrival.
Frances Sleep announces committee rosters for the Bonner County Humane Society including Helen Whittaker in charge of special fund raising and Robert Nesbitt as finance chair. The group schedules a cat show June 18 at the fair grounds and a rummage sale May 13 at St Agnes Guild Hall.
The FBI broadened a manhunt for 35 year old Michael Andrew Olds to include the Rocky Mountain states and the Northwest. Olds is accused in the slayings of cab driver Steven F Schmerer of College Place Washington and 75 year old Mary E Lindsay of Ione Oregon. Both victims were found shot to death.
