Boise publisher urges student journalists to join journalism’s future
MOSCOW UPI The Idaho Statesman publisher told high school students that young recruits are needed to preserve the intoxicity of journalism. He stressed practical training over theory and urged local, in depth reporting to combat injustice, corruption and inefficiency while preparing readers for responsible choices.

Miss Sandpoint Contestant Day Highlights Pageant Events
Twelve Miss Sandpoint contestants will start Saturday April 8 with a tea at 1 p.m. in the Pastime Panda Room where each will deliver a 90 second to two minute speech on What I Like Most About the Emerald Empire. The Miss Sandpoint Pageant begins at 7 30 p.m. in the Sandpoint Senior High Auditorium with musical entertainment by The Variations and comments from Paulette Park Claudia Ammerman Vicki Timblin and other 1971 court members.
