Boise publisher urges student journalists to join journalism’s future
MOSCOW UPI The Idaho Statesman publisher told high school students that young recruits are needed to preserve the intoxicity of journalism. He stressed practical training over theory and urged local, in depth reporting to combat injustice, corruption and inefficiency while preparing readers for responsible choices.

Stage two under way for Sandpoint Beach project wall and dock

The Last Call of Shiloh a religious rock band will perform Friday night at Sand Point Junior High Auditorium at 7 30 p m The group appeared in the Sandpoint Senior High talent show on April 12 1971 Members include Jamie Tsapatoris John Murray Diane Murray Rick Sayler Johnnie Rosenberg and Vicki LaMoreaux A part time singer from Sand Point hopes to join full time after school ends The concert will feature testimonies about changes in the band members lives due to their beliefs.

Miss Sandpoint Contestant Day Highlights Pageant Events
Twelve Miss Sandpoint contestants will start Saturday April 8 with a tea at 1 p.m. in the Pastime Panda Room where each will deliver a 90 second to two minute speech on What I Like Most About the Emerald Empire. The Miss Sandpoint Pageant begins at 7 30 p.m. in the Sandpoint Senior High Auditorium with musical entertainment by The Variations and comments from Paulette Park Claudia Ammerman Vicki Timblin and other 1971 court members.
