Plane Crash at Sandpoint Airport Injures Six Family Members
A private Beechcraft Bonanza carrying Terrance McDonald and his five children crashed on landing at Sandpoint Airport Sunday after a gear malfunction. Four passengers suffered minor injuries. the aircraft and gear were extensively damaged. The family, from Mead, Washington, included ages 13 to 18. Police and FAA inspected the scene.

The Bonner County Sportsmen’s Association presents a two hour color film Wildlife Unlimited at Sandpoint Jr. High School auditorium on Wednesday April 8 with showings at 7 30 p m and 9 30 p m. Filmmaker Mickey Bailey a former Walt Disney photographer documents hunting and fishing across Canada and Alaska including wolves wolverine ptarmigan moose and Alaska fishing fleet operations. Bailey is an Oregon sportsman and cameraman who holds Boone and Crockett records for the largest elk and mule deer trophies.

Special Prenatal Clinic Starts April 8 in Sandpoint
The Bonner County Homemakers Council sponsors a prenatal clinic from 7 to 9 p.m. starting April 8 at the Sandpoint Community Hall. Trucker Crew Involved In Fatal Interstate Crash Near Ritzville
A 20 year old Spokane woman Elizabeth Spracklen died when a three axle tractor trailer left Interstate 90 three miles north of Ritzville Washington and rolled over at 5 40 a m Saturday. Driver David Walker 23 of Sandpoint suffered leg injuries while passenger David E Robertson 23 of Kootenai Idaho had head and limb injuries. All three were taken to Deaconess Hospital. The unit owned by Floyd McGhee Sandpoint was a total loss. Funeral services for Miss Spracklen are set for Tuesday at Hazen Jaeger Valley Funeral Home Spokane with interment at Pinecrest Memorial Park Sandpoint.

Two Die in Car After Kidnapping Attempt Near Lewiston
Lewiston Idaho Sunday two people were found dead in a running car on an abandoned road. Joseph Sperli 42 of Livingston Montana allegedly forced Mary Everett 34 of Lewiston to marry him. Authorities said the couple died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
