Sandpoint Cub Scouts Repaint City Pit Areas Then Hold Kite Derby

Hard-working Sandpoint Pack 117 scouts and parents repainted barbecue pits at City Beach and Triangle Park at Main and Oak Streets starting around 8 a.m. on a Saturday. The effort was done at the request of Mayor Ed Eitzman, followed by a kite-flying derby under sunny skies with light winds. Cubmaster Steve Parrish led the group.

Dogs Maul Girl 6 in Breckenridge Colorado Tragedy

Three dogs attacked and killed six year old Tamara Newton as she walked to a playmate’s home in Breckenridge Summit County authorities said. Coroner Dr Olin Mueller reported the girl’s jugular vein was torn and her clothes ripped. Undersheriff Joe Antonio said suspects were a Lt Bernard a Husky German Shepherd mix and a Norwegian Elkhound, owned by two women Susan Consiglio and Karen Gavaghan. The dogs were impounded for tests to determine if they were the attackers.

Farmin Elementary LD Students Present Video Program

Farmin Elementary students in Learning Disabilities Glass hosted a taped 90 minute video for parents on Friday afternoons. under teachers Kathy Johnson Linda Bakke and aide Deena Roberts. The program included original plays memorized poems and artwork created by the children. The project aimed to strengthen reading skills and build confidence while letting families view the production together.

Price Outlook Bets Slower Inflation Across Idaho in 1977

Car collision near Cedar Street service station injures two drivers

A rear end crash on Cedar Street involving Betty Nillus, 33, of Ponderay, and Daniel Nichols, 27, of Sandpoint caused about 1200 dollars damage to the Nillus car and 600 dollars to the Nichols car.

Sandpoint police seek a Washington state resident suspected of defrauding an innkeeper. The man allegedly stayed nine days at Motel 6 under a verbal pay plan and left town without paying.

Signs Demolished At City Limit In Sandpoint

Sandpoint police discovered damage to the city limit sign speed limit sign and welcome wagon signs at the south end of the city on Highway 95. Sign posts were snapped at the base and there are no leads on suspects.

Auto Recovered After Clark Fork Theft

Coeur d Alene police notified Bonner County Sheriff s Office Friday they recovered a 1965 Chevrolet station wagon stolen from Clark Fork Thursday. Three juvenile suspects were taken into custody and transferred to Bonner County jail. Two are from Clark Fork and one from Roberts.

Child Struck by Motorcycle on county road to Garfield Bay

Sue Andrews of Garfield Bay reports her three year old son Jason was struck by a motorcycle Sunday on the county road to the bay. The riders, aged about 12 to 14, allegedly had an unregistered, unlicensed bike. Jason was limping but not badly hurt.

Mary Kochendorfer reports a sleeping bag stolen from the Fidelity Trust building on Friday valued at 100 dollars with one suspect in custody. Vivian Hull reports a burglary at a Spokane residence between March 19 and April 2 missing items worth over 900 dollars. Frank Pratt reports the theft of 500 feet of steel rails from a Garfield Bay mine location totaling about 1000 dollars.
