Grand Jury Recommends New City Court in Wrightsville
The Wrightsville Chronicle reports the January 1 1908 effect of Flanders bill abolishing the city court, with the September grand jury recommending a county city court and officers to be appointed by Governor Hoke Smith. Col J L Kent urged as judge and Col B B Blount as solicitor. recommendations said to be unanimous. The move follows widespread frustration over abolition of the current court.
