Presiding Elder Bascom Anthony moved the annual session from June 16 to June 22 to avoid conflict with the first Sandersville Chautauqua. The Davisboro venue remains, and locals thank him for coordinating schedules across nearby towns.
A mass meeting at the court house on May 16 elected the new city executive committee of Sandersville. Col. A W Evans ordered the meeting. Col. E P Wood was chosen secretary. The committee members named were D P Hale, J B Hyman, Newman Wood, E A Harris and G H Howard. The meeting adjourned after no further business.
Col C. R. Pringle, longtime Sandersville resident and former state legislator, dies aged about 80. Born in Pike County in 1833, he led a life of Christian virtue and temperance leadership and served as president of the State Temperance Association. He leaves wife Miss Nona Grantly, a daughter Mrs J T Pittard, and a family estate valued around 50 000 to 60 000 dollars plus 14 000 dollars in life insurance.
