Honored Citizen Col C R Pringle Dies After Illness
Col C R Pringle dies of pneumonia after a brief illness at his Sandersville residence. He was a Monroe or Pike County native, long a Sandersville merchant, real estate dealer, and planter, served in the General Assembly 1882 to 1885 and as State Senator 1886 to 1887. He led the Georgia Prohibition Association and 4 PM funeral at the Methodist church with Masonic honors.

In Albany chautauqua on May 1 Colquitt County earned two medals. Sidney S. Cole of Norman Park won as best young man in oratory and Miss Lillian Welch of Moultrie won for elocution. Several south Georgia counties competed, but Colquitt took both awards.

Revival at Methodist Church Closes After Two Week Series
The Methodist church revival in this city ended Sunday evening after a two week run. Pastor Rev Whitley Langston led the sermons with assistance from Revs W F Quillian Jr of Wrightsville W G Brown of Irwinton and W A Brooks of this city. Accessions by letter restoration and profession included O Waters Elbert C Trice Grady Blount Bryant Rachels and Mrs Mary Beltchey Mrs Emile Chedel Miss Ollie Baker and several youths. Baptismal and eucharistical services followed Sunday evening.

Death of Mr. West Near City
Mr J A West died at his residence a few miles from the city last Thursday after a week of illness. The funeral was held at the home Friday afternoon by Rev Whitey Langston and the body was brought to town for burial. He was a respected Methodist and left a wife several children and many friends to mourn his loss.
