Sheppards Acquitted in City Court Verdicts of Not Guilty
In Harrison, Howell F. Sheppard and his son Riley Sheppard were acquitted in city court after trials Monday. Jule Cooper also earned an acquittal in a liquor sale case connected to Warthen. Pleas of guilty reduced court terms and several cases were continued. Rev. E H Morgan faces perjury charges in Johnson county superior court today as friends rally behind him.

Death of the Infant of Rev. L. W. Colson
The infant of Rev. and Mrs. L. W. Colson died last Saturday after a several weeks illness. The baby, who had seemed better recently, died unexpectedly. The body was taken to Sherman Ga for interment beside family members, with Rev. and Mrs. Colson and friends traveling with it. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved family.

Cat Executed After Brain Storm Verdict By City Officials
A cat owned by Mr. A. ST. Richbourg showed peculiar behavior Tuesday morning. City court judge and solicitor ruled it had a brain storm or possible hydrophobia and sentenced the animal to death. The cat was killed with pistols after an attempted execution. The incident follows a prior case where Judge Hyman's cat was said to be mad and bit a child, with treatment at the Pasteur Institute in Atlanta.
