Hon James M Smith of Smithonia Oglethorpe county addressed the farmers of Washington county at the court house on Tuesday noon. He was introduced by Mr D Shelnutt and spoke for an hour urging farmers to reduce cotton acreage and diversify crops. The speech is expected to bring much good to the farming community.
