Mrs B D Evans a devout Christian woman of Sandersville and wife of Col B D Evans died at her daughter’s home in Lindale near Rome on July 24 1905. The obituary notes her Civil War era service to the Confederacy her flag gift to the Washington Rifles and her roles with the Baptist church the Ladies Memorial Association and the Daughters of the Confederacy. Survived by five sons Judge B D Evans Atlanta Dr J H Evans Davisboro and Geo Evans A Willis Evans and A Louis Evans Sandersville and a daughter Mrs T H Booz Jr Lindale. The funeral was held at the Baptist church in Sandersville with interment in the local cemetery. The Sandersville Bar adjourned its July term in her honor.

Suspect fires on constable during arrest attempt
Constable Albert Heath was shot in the left hand Saturday night by Mance Miller who resisted arrest. Miller, wanted for a misdemeanor, defied officers and fired as he was apprehended, fleeing amid a volley of shots with two believed to have struck. One hit the speed the lower limb.

While en route via Atlanta he was stricken with appendicitis just after visiting a friend and collapsed on a veranda.
