Tragic Shooting Kills Conductor J M Mason Near Sandersville
Conductor J M Mason of the Augusta to Tennille line was shot and killed three miles north of Sandersville while the southbound train moved last Saturday night around eight. Dennis Boyer, a former railway employee, fired after being refused a fare pass and boarding the moving train. Mason died shortly after at Sandersville with a wife and child left in mourning.
