Double Tracking Illinois Central Road From Memphis to Fulton
In a New Orleans report Vice President J T Harahan of the Illinois Central says the main line will be double tracked over 122 miles from Memphis to Fulton Kentucky within a year completing a continuous line to Chicago. A union depot plan will move transcontinental trains through New Orleans from January 4 with the Sunset Limited connecting directly to eastern lines and Frisco expansion rumored for Port Chalmette terminals and surrounding riverfront property.
