Cotton Receipts to Aid Farmers in Georgia Union Bank Pact

Macon officials from the Georgia Farmers Union and the Georgia Bankers Association met December 4 1907 to discuss a cooperative plan. They agreed banks would cooperate with farmers to use cotton receipts as collateral enabling debt adjustment with creditors while preserving lender independence. Joseph S. Davis L. P. Hillyer presiding for the Bankers Association and R. F. Duckworth J. L. Barron J. G. Eubanks for the Farmers Union signed the accord.

Brantley Likely Candidate for Laurens County House Seat

Senator Chas W Brantley plans to run for representative in the Legislature from Laurens County after his current term ends next June.
