Fodder pulling draws farmer attention as cotton begins to open. Local visits include J F Harrison recovering from typhoid and A W J Wood with son Arthur. Numerous social notes—visits to Nails Creek, Pleasant Hill meeting, peach orchards, and guests at various homes.
The district general meeting convened at the Baptist church Friday through Sunday with Bro. S. J. Jordan elected Moderator and delegates from multiple churches attending. Prof. Gibson contributed to discussions while Pastor Arnold delivered sermons to a large, appreciative congregation with ample food and water for the crowds.
The city announces a municipal election in Sandersville from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday August 30 for Mayor five Aldermen and City Treasurer. Election managers are R M Brown S E Adams and J A Sullivan appointed by the Mayor and Council. Dated July 24 1905. Clerk W W Warren.
A city barber shop advertises four skilled barbers ready to provide the latest cuts and shaves with courteous service. Veteran barber Henry Baanrier is highlighted as part of the shop's long standing staff.
Last Thursday at 4 pm the corner stone of the Sandersville Baptist Church was laid with a solemn ceremony. Hamilton Lodge No 58 and visiting Masons, led by Grand Marshal W B Bennett, participated with a choir, band, and remarks from Rev A Chamlee and Hon J C C Black. Architect E J Fuller and builder F E Fuller oversee rapid completion as the church is erected in 1905.
Miss Mamie Jordan and Mr. William Harvey Smith exchanged vows July 26 at the Bland home in Milledgeville with Rev. Langston officiating. After a breakfast reception the couple departed for a monthlong Northern excursion before settling in Sandersville where Smith is a cotton merchant.
The notice says fishing starts Tuesday morning in August at Std. Wor pond. Charges include £1 per day per man or 5 tickets for $4, nets 4d each or 20 for $1, and hook and line 50e per day or $1 for about 10 days. Cart. ARMSTRONG invites all to fish. pond not drawn off in 5 years.
The Methodist church invites the public to Sunday services at 11 AM with a sermon on The Holy Spirit covering His personality and offices and His dwelling in hearts or bodies. The Lord's Supper will be observed afterward. Rev Bakeem Anthony preaches in the evening and conducts the third quarterly conference next Thursday.
The Macon Fair plans a new artillery battery display alongside last year’s celebrated Seventh Cavalry drill. Georgia Farmer's Day will highlight farm interests with farmer input and a robust poultry show led by James Budd. Minnesota farmers may visit, stockbreeders meet, and lectures by noted dairy and stock breeders are planned, with Senator Tillman among speakers.
