Bend by Gimlet Fish Killed by Flood Water
Colorado City waters from the Colorado River fell Monday as eight feet of water carried alkali and salt that killed many fish. Anglers saw buffalo fish of 30 to 50 pounds and a 59 pound catfish. Crops improved with corn and fruit entering ripening stages. Water supply for Bend residents came from windmills, with silt-laden river water affecting households and the public school.
