Time For Ninth Inning Victory By San Saba Rangers
The San Saba Rangers edged the Brownwood Lions 4-3 in a dramatic ninth inning rally to claim a Hill Country League win. Hardy pitched seven strong frames allowing four hits with nine Rangers’ batters sent to the bench by strikeout. Cross relieved in the eighth and kept Brownwood at bay as Rangers pulled ahead in the bottom of the ninth with Watson’s Texas Leaguer and a muffed grounder by Womack scoring the decisive run. Funderburk and Harkey led Ranger hitters with a triple and double and two doubles respectively, while Wilson led Brownwood with a triple and two singles in four trips.
