Hall Car Encounters Rattlesnake at East Ranch Ride
A rattlesnake was found in the hood area after Hall’s ranch car rolled over it near Posmtaster F B Hall’s ranch. The snake disappeared during the initial stop, then a ranch hand later found a dead rattler under the hood, likely killed by engine heat. The episode began when the car slid over the snake on a long incline near the river farm.

Woman Bitten By Small Rattlesnake
Mrs. C. B. Lambert Jr. of the Wallace community was bitten on the hand by a small rattlesnake she found in a kitchen cabinet. She received immediate medical care in town and was severely ill for several days but is now recuperating at home. Bo Ag Limroth is moving the M System Store this week to the Meveil building next door to City Hall.

Rangers Triumph In 17 Inning Doubleheader Thriller
In Hill Country amateur baseball the Rangers beat the Junction Eagles in a marathon 17 inning opener that ended 8 to 5 after a tense late rally. San Saba surged with five runs in the second. Junction tied in the eighth and again in the tenth, then Rangers exploded for three runs in the 17th. The nightcap finished early with Rangers leading 7 to 1 after five innings as D Harkey started, Ashley finished the 10th, and Robbins hurled seven to earn the win. Next Sunday Mason Mavericks visit San Saba at Fair Park at 2:30 p.m.

Baccalaureate Sermon Opens School Commencement Night

The Senior Junior Banquet last Friday night was hosted by First Methodist church ladies in the church basement. John Fagg led as toastmaster with praise for his dancing and the overall program featured talks from superintendent Campbell, Miss Vida Moore, Verena King, Principal Harold Thomas, and Miss Johnnie Weatherby with a drama by the Juniors. The menu included fried chicken, gravy, tomatoes, tea, salad, vegetables, chalk ice cream, cake, and a note of visiting relatives from CoK county and local families.
