Auto Drivers To Terms of New Law

A synopsis of the uniform operators and chauffeurs license act to be introduced in the 42nd legislature by Rep Jack Eller of Delis outlines who can drive and who cannot. Qualified persons 14 and over. minors under 14, intoxicated or mentally unfit individuals barred. Licenses revoked for homicide, DUI or drag racing, perjury, reckless driving, fleeing after an accident, or felonies. Suspensions for revocation, negligent driving, and unsafe driving. Right of appeal to designated courts. Evasions penalized. licenses or badges misused, lending licenses, misrepresentation, or concealing material facts. Penalties up to 500 dollars or six months jail. Exemptions for farm machinery, military, and non-residents per home-state rules. Administration by State Highway Department. enforcement by local and state police. Fees set: operators up to 15 cents, chauffeurs at 3 dollars.
