Rites Held for San Saba Resident Jack Senterfitt

Funeral services for Reuben Jack Senterfitt 30 of San Saba district flock supervisor for Western Hatcheries at Mill a Lampasas San Saba McCulloch and Caneho counties were held at 3 30 pm Friday December 2 at the Church of Christ in San Saba with Minister A C Knight officiating He died at 11 pm Wednesday November 30 in a Brady hospital after a brief illness from a heart ailment Survivors include his wife Willie Pearl Allen two children Allen Morton and Cynthia Shirling his parents Mr and Mrs R R Senterfitt of San Saba two grandparents Mrs R J Senterfitt and Mrs Laura Smith both of San Saba a sister Mrs Jeanette Hogg of Fort Worth and a brother Ray Senterfitt Jr of San Angelo He was born November 14 1923 in the county and joined the Church of Christ at age 18 He married June 4 1944 in San Saba Pallbearers were ill Hicks G J Bell Maynard McCoury Alvin Mays Wo W Os Kuykendall and for Hinshaw Church of Christ ladies assisted with the service.

UT student and friends host holiday gatherings in San Angelo area

L John Millican of the University of Texas and a group including Mr and Mrs North Millican Miss Neldalemons Miss Jinnestine Smith and SWTSC student Owen Renfro visited families in Bendian San Marcos and Victoria over the holidays. Guests enjoyed a dinner hosted by the Johnsons and included Misa Shirley Roe and Lloyd Smiths family. Also noted is Miss Elyse Hil, UT student, who killed a five point buck during a nearby deer hunt with her father at the White Janel property.

Lambert Rites Held Saturday

Funeral services for Walter P. Lambert 74 of Richland Springs retired carpenter were held at 2 30 p m Saturday at the First Christian Church in Richland Springs with Rev Johnny Quick and Rev Leslie Rogers officiating Lambert who had been in ill health for the past year died at 7 pm Thursday Dec 4 in a Brady hospital Surviving are his wife nee Clara Crown and daughter Mia Orley Reese of Menard two brothers Robert Lambert of Richland Springs and Joe A Lambert of Buckeye Ariz and two grandchildren A native of Torn Green county where he was born Feb 21 1881 Lambert came to this county in TKR He became no member of the Ian Clanch in 1917 and was awarded In Richland Springs on Aug 14 1905 Pallbearers were John Chirk McGregor Jean Adams Casey Heatherly Taskell Miller Harold Burleson and Verlon Simpson Howell-Doran funeral directors for San Saba were in charge of burial commemoration in the City Cemetery at Richland Springs Guests in the home of Per and Mra TH Vi Melts last week were her parents Mr and Mrs Abel Hiding of Campbellaville Ky Miss Lenora Thurris from Cole Win spent the week in the home of fer oniece Mr and Mrs Louis Crip and daughter.

Texas farmers push for rigid price supports in hearings

About 67 witnesses from across the state described declining farm incomes, rising costs, and the need for a sound farm program, while farmers praised public opinion as democracy in action.

Former Resident Killed Near Ballinger

Eugene Hall McDaniel a 44 year old Lampasas ranch foreman and San Saba native was killed November 27 near Ballinger when struck by a hit and run driver. Born April 3, 1911 in San Saba County he is survived by his wife three daughters his mother Addie McDaniel of Brownwood three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held in Brownwood Monday November 28.

Miss Clara Jean Sanderson of Lampasas visited her parents, and Mrs. Bill Adams of San Angelo spent the weekend with her family. Mrs. Theo Garvin and son Ted visited in Waco with her mother in the home of her brother. QO. M. Garvin returned from Gainesville after a two week visit with his daughter. Glen Tongate and sons visited in San Saba during deer season. Several families from local towns visited relatives in the area, and Dove Creek couple Lee and Mary Chord were guests of relatives this week. THANTONS HELP ORPHANS A Cherokee group donated turkeys and vibes for Buckner's Boys Ranch Thanksgiving. Hugh Thaxton's donation was omitted.

McKneely Opens Denver Medical Office

Dr. M. D. McKneely, son of Mr and Mrs C M McKneely of San Saba, has opened a private medical and surgical practice in Denver Colorado. He is connected with a Denver hospital. His wife is a schoolteacher, and the couple has two children, Rebecca and Paul.
