Colonel Stanley Receives Legion of Merit in San Marino
Col Eben Stanley, recently retired from the Army Air Forces, is awarded the Legion of Merit by Maj Gen Ralph P. Cousins at his San Marino home. The citation credits his leadership of special services during a rapid training expansion and notes his earlier staff work before departing for the Pacific in 1945. He formerly lived in Chicago and heads Dean Sales Corporation with Los Angeles offices.

Community Vacation School Opens For All Children
The Community Vacation School started Monday at 9 30 with strong turnout and will meet each morning until Friday June 28. Group leaders include Mrs J Pitkens Fuller Mrs Glenn W Moore and others. Young Officer Wins Marine Corps Citation

Nelson Burdett on terminal leave after serving as special services officer in Tien Lin China where he earned a Marine citation from Lt General Geiger for creating an overseas education and recreation program.
