San Marino District Expands Self-Funded Insurance Plan
With only a month and a half left in the school year, San Marino School District reports a $37,993 savings from self-funded Workers' Compensation after deducting claims and admin costs. The district joined the West Valley Schools' Joint Powers Authority, seeing a 10 percent premium reduction to $53,000 versus the prior conventional carrier. The board heard plans to extend self funding to liability and property damage, as five area districts participate in the Authority now entering its second year.
