Two Local Men Among Graduates At Annapolis
Two local men are in the 1948 B graduating class of the US Naval Academy Annapolis Maryland to receive diplomas June 4 in Dahlgren Hall. Midshipman Nicholas Anthony Castruccio and Midshipman Peter Nathaniel Sherrill are among the graduates as the academy ends June Week and four years of study. The commencement speaker will be Secretary of the Navy John L Sullivan. Castruccio son of Mr and Mrs Constantine M Castruccio attended St Therese High School of Alhambra Loyola High School of Los Angeles and Santa Clara University and ranked in the top half of his class. He earned lacrosse numerals in his first year and held several brigade posts. If selected for a commission he would be commissioned Ensign in the US Navy and hopes to enter aviation. Local Hi-Y Delegates to Attend National Congress at Oxford
Ruth Knoeppel and Alden McKelvey have been chosen to represent Tri-Hi-Y and Hi-Y Clubs of South Pasadena-San Marino Senior High School at the National Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y Congress in Oxford Ohio June 25 30 1948. About 300 local members will be represented by the pair among over 1000 delegates from nearly every state Canada and Hawaii. The Southern California delegation of about 25 will depart Los Angeles June 21 under Charles Van Winkle and Miss Thelma Sprague and travel via Louisville and Nashville to Oxford arriving June 24. They will return via the SP Argoanut and Argoanut to Los Angeles arriving July Fourth.

Friends Mourn Passing Of Mrs Mossman In Pasadena
Mrs. Mossman longtime civic activist died at home 3345 Monterey road in Pasadena on June 1. She led Red Cross work in Wayne Indiana and chaired nurses of North East Indiana during WWI.
