San Marino Women Organize Civilian Defense Meeting
The San Marino Woman's Club forms a Civilian Defense committee inviting presidents of local women’s groups to a 10:30 a.m. meeting on December 17 at the San Gabriel Country Club. Daughters and presidents will attend the Huntington School auditorium at 2 p.m. for a Christmas program including a Manikin Theatre showing half life size figures directed by Joseph Finley and Gordon Graves, with charity collection.

San Marino Forms Civil Defense Council During Blackout
During San Marino's first blackout the City Council created a Civilian Defense Council led by Carleton Tibbetts and Roscoe Andrews to coordinate defense work. Five committees will advise on information, health, welfare, transportation, housing and records while volunteers are invited to register with the police.
