The San Marino building department reports July pool permits totaled 13 with costs of 40 975, adding to a seven month permit value of 2 636 473. Last year July had eight pools and 103 350. Total permits year to date exceed 1962 levels, with 102 vacant residential and 29 commercial lots, 22 service stations and 119 commercial buildings listed.
Pasadena police arrested 19 year old Thomas Raymond Nieto at a San Marino intersection on Thursday following a chase from Pasadena. He faces two counts of statutory rape and one count of battery and was booked into Pasadena jail on a warrant. Nieto, a Cypress Avenue resident, had been wanted since early July on probation violations related to the first reported incident.
San Marino residents and workers are invited to submit up to three prints in each of two categories black and white and color for the Salon Photography competition at the San Marino Public Library. Movern admitted planning to rob San Marino dental offices and a home, face two burglary charges, arraigned Friday and held to answer August 22.
