Loughlin named Santa Margarita female athlete of the year
Santa Margarita senior Emily Loughlin, a water polo star from San Clemente, is honored as the school's female athlete of the year. She led the Eagles to Trinity League and CIF-SS Division 2 titles, scored 93 goals, drew record exclusions, and captained the team while training with the U.S. youth national team.

San Clemente based Southern California Blues Soccer Club qualified three age group squads U19 U14 and U13 for the Far West Regional Championship in Honolulu starting Monday through June 23 at Waipio Peninsula. San Clemente High boys coach Marc Popovich leads two youth camps for grades 2-8 with sessions from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Camp 2 runs July 8–12. Burns coaches girls camp for grades 4-8 from June 24-28 and July 15-18, 9 a.m. to noon, with fees of 125 dollars or 105 for family groups. Tritons Rising Stars Football Camp runs July 15-18 and July 22-25, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Thalassa Stadium, limit 75, 165 dollars.
