Sound wall work continues along I-5 in San Clemente
A $5.3 million project to build two contiguous sound walls along the southbound I-5 in southwest San Clemente advances. One 900 foot long 16 foot tall see through wall will shield the South El Camino Real overpass. the second 1 600 foot long wall 14 to 16 feet tall runs along an onramp from El Camino Real to southbound I-5 extending from Avenida Princesa to Avenida Cornelio. The walls will reduce noise and prevent vehicles from careening onto Del Presidente where multiple crashes have occurred since 2001.
