Mechanics Clinch Army Baseball League Title With Nineteenth Infantry
The Mechanical Repair Shops beat the Nineteenth Infantry 10 to 0 to clinch the Army Baseball League championship and San Antonio Light trophy. The Shops pull ahead to two and a half games over Kelly Field with two games left, assurances they’ll lead barring a collapse. The game featured unusual fielding and pitching, with Cobb starting in right field then pitching, and Neiderman moving from first to pitcher while Winters and Harper held the Infantry. The crowd’s interest shifts to Saturday’s League Park game against Kelly Field, expected to draw around 400 spectators as the Mechanics seek another convincing victory.
