A contractor Ralph Weidler and his lifelong friend were at a housing project when police informed Eldridge Sr that his son Ralph Jr aged 31 had drowned in a second accident. The earlier crash left Weidler’s son Robert 13 seriously injured. Both incidents were reported to have occurred at 18 58 a.m.
