Cochran Elected San Antonio Public Schools Superintendent
J C Cochran was elected superintendent by the San Antonio board of education in a closed meeting. Dr Mary King Robie criticized the move as undermining the board while Cochran, a native Texan from Mexia, returns to lead the city schools with a $5000 annual Mexia salary for a four year term. He has prior posts in Del Rio and Leckhart, and brings affiliations with the State Teachers Association and the National Education Association.
