Caldwell Seeks Former Chair Finck as Budget Audit Consultant
Rep. Neil Caldwell of Alvin, chair of the House Appropriations Committee, wants former chair Bill Finck of San Antonio to join as a consultant after the session ends. Finck, who led the committee from 1972 to 1974, was defeated in 1976 by Matt Ciarcia. Caldwell plans study trips to New York, California, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts to examine budget auditing used elsewhere. He suggested paying Finck about 10 dollars per day. Finck is a San Antonio lawyer and cigar maker who first took office in 1967.
