Estate Fight Hearing Set
Hearing on the appointment of a receiver for the estate of John Easterly 82 recluse found dead in his buried home near Thelma will be held before Judge Tayloe in Forty-fifth District court on May 8. Easterly was found dead February 27. The hearing was ordered Friday by Judge B. Carr of Floresville sitting for Judge Howard in Thirty-seventh District court after adult contestants filed suit to contest Easterly s will dated September 20, 1931 leaving his estate to Mrs Victoria Clark and Mrs Mary A Kempshall of Fralburrias. The petition alleges a community property stake and a previous agreement transferring interest to Easterly with a one third bequest to each stepdaughter and one third to his sister Rose Easterly Smith. The plaintiffs say the 1912 will should have been probated instead of the later will.
