Priests Say San Antonio Transfers Seen As Normal
A San Antonio archdiocese spokesman calls the transfer of 13 priests who signed a letter calling for Archbishop Lucey’s removal “normal for this time of year” under the law of averages. Some priests and Rev. Sherrill Smith call transfers punitive, with Smith moved to St. Philip’s in El Campo and Rev. John Orr to St. Mary’s in Victoria for personal work goals.
