Briscoe Sees Carter Win Texas Nomination Prediction
Gov. Dolph Briscoe said Jimmy Carter will win the Democratic nomination and carry Texas in November even if John Connally is on the Republican ticket. Briscoe endorsed Carter, spoke at a long news conference, and supported keeping Texas primary elections with an eye to future rules. He also discussed pay raises, water access, and the state’s utility and water planning issues.
