Study Hits City on Valuations
A county study blasted San Antonio's Board of Equalization for setting unsubstantiated property values. Ken Burgess, director, said city figures of 9 dollars per square foot along Loop 410 northern sector lack appraisal support, while county value of 1.80 dollars per square foot aligns with sales and criteria. He noted some small parcels sold high but unable to apply to large tracts. Burgess cited use of 1975 commercial values instead of 1972 benchmark.
