San Antonio Schools Highlight Disabled Care Effort
Doris Wright reports the San Antonio School District operates 10 counselors focusing on disabled students. Porter outlines a broad pupil services program serving ages 3 to 21, with 12 disability categories and flexible placement from public schools to tutoring at home. Educationally, goals include mainstreaming when possible and preventing disability progression, with learning centers at Baskin, Brackenridge and Fannin, plus contracts with several non public schools.
