Firestone Gum Dipped Tires Claim Superior Blowout Proof Safety
Firestone high speed gum dipped tires are marketed as blowout proof by a gum dipping process that coats every cotton cord with liquid rubber to prevent internal heat and friction. The ads cite 1934 crash data and long road and track records, including Indianapolis race success, Utah speed runs, and mileage longevity claiming 50 percent plus longer wear and lower cost per mile.
