State Attorney Champion announced plans to present the case to the grand jury tomorrow asserting he would not rely on testimony from multiple girls named in a dark notebook Thompson admitted attacking several women after their names were found in the notebook.
Houston filing names Humble Oil and 16 royalty firms among 78 defendants in a federal case by Molly Foster of Pauls Valley Oklahoma claiming land rights and outlining an alleged oil theft of seven million barrels valued at about 1 per barrel with damages sought. Princess Juliana cancels German liaison plan amid illness in The Hague.

Judge H. J. Johnson was sworn in as successor to the late Judge R. B. Minor in a simple ceremony attended by about 50 lawyers and several women. Chief Justice J. H. Bickett praised him for qualification and warned jurors no petty excuses will relieve duty. Johnson released several jurors for the August term if willing to serve.
In a June conference at Phiping Ching Japan and China announced an accord to end the Changpei incident. General Kenji Polhara and General Olin Teh Chuan completed the agreement, Japanese officials said the case is closed, and Chin resigned as governor. The terms of the settlement were not fully disclosed.
