Denton Fire Claims Two Heroes In South Side Blaze
A midnight blaze in Denton Texas destroyed much of the south side. Firemen JOE TURPIN aged 30 and ERNEST BUSHEY aged 17 died when a wall toppled on them as they fought the Craddock block fire. Firefighter S. S. Grant was seriously injured. The blaze started in R. B. Rich’s blacksmith shop and consumed about two and a half blocks, threatening $250000 in property. Principal losses included R. B. Rich, Arkansaw mill, and Craddock properties with substantial insurance coverage.
