Huntress 15 Chosen as County Auditor

John V. Huntress was appointed county auditor of Bexar County, effective October 1. He succeeds Thomas L. Ramsey after a tied vote delay, with judges Birkhead Dwyer Shook voting Huntress and Seeligson Camp voting Ramsey. Huntress will assume duties on October 1.

Negro evangelist fined for affray in police court

I. L. Johnson a minister was fined 50 dollars by Judge Buckley after an affray with Gus Lawrence on Nebraska street June 20. Lawrence was found not guilty and the case dismissed. A pistol discharged injuring Johnson and Lawrence’s wife was struck by a bullet with part of a thumb torn away. The dispute stemmed from a house rental disagreement.
