Fire Burns Home Belonging to Ramon Arriola
A spectacular blaze destroyed the Berg's Mill resident of Ramon Arriola, drawing 2001 motorists and snarling Booth Loop traffic for two hours. The fire started from an overheated oil stove at 9 p.m. Thursday as Arriola slept. He escaped with his life and deputies had to restrain him from re-entering the blaze after fearing his 11 children were inside. the missing children were later found safe in the neighborhood. Autos blocked the Blenway from Berg's Mill to Stinson field as crews worked to untangle the jam.
