Oil allowable questioned in East Texas wells case
Dallas July 6. Texas railroad and public utilities commission chairmen say a federal court ruling granting Rowan and Nichols more oil allowable will not disturb East Texas crude production. The lower court ruling affected five wells and the federal board has not yet allowed shipments beyond state-set limits. Kilgore board considers a July permit for 5060 barrels. The key issue is whether Dosrol allows interstate shipment of Rowan and Nichols oil despite a railroad commission allowance of 20 barrels per well daily. Wells under federal injunction run about 44 barrels daily. The commission will continue to refuse such requests until the highest federal tribunal approves.
