Pay Cuts For Some Yankee Players
Yankees president Ed Barrow says the club will not be the highest paid again and several players will face salary reductions. DiMaggio and others may see slight cuts, with Joe DiMaggio around 30,000 and total payroll expected above 300,000 while Bill Dickey and Red Ruffing are set for sizable figures. Giants payroll contrasts with cuts for several players including Zeke Bonita, while Mel Ott heads the Giants at 20,006.
