Labor Act Change Seen After Rulings
Washington January 10 Critics in the House predict that two court rulings against the national labor board will intensify calls to revise the Wagner Act. Representative Ramspeck of the labor committee says decisions show the board may construe the law itself and there will likely be more willingness to consider amendments this year. He and an investigating committee argue the board abuses discretion and sometimes acts as both prosecutor and judge. Ramspeck adds his view of the law aligns with Inland Steel that conferences leading to agreements satisfy the statute.
