On Thursday February 13 1967 construction is set to begin on the Losoya Creek bridge and approaches at the F M 1937 crossing in southview Bexar County. Leo P Cloud Jr won the bid for 77 836 56 to remove the existing 18 foot wide bridge and rebuild a new wider structure.
Widow Springs Ranch of Burton Texas led with five of eight Brangus awards including grand champion bull and grand champion female. Other Brangus winners included Sheldick Brangus Farms Bleiblerville Texas reserve grand champion female Bew Graham Milano Texas and Theidick Brangus Farms Mrs Ammie F Wilson Llano with two top Brangus honors. Shorthorns show saw Ricky Andrews Granbury claim both champion and reserve champion heifers. Events also featured cutting horse roping saddle horse and steer wrestling results with riders from Texas Oklahoma New Mexico and California.
San Antonio legend Bill Twaites, a 70 year old Cherokee cattleman and famed horseshoer, recounts a lifetime of travel and awards. From Alpine to Paris to World War I service, his 63 year career spans states and oceans, earning him champion and reserve awards and a storied nickname Unifele Bill the Horseshoer. Now based in San Antonio, he continues at the stock show with his leather apron and blue pickup, reflecting on the open lands of earlier days.
Tipton Indiana farm entries swept the open Dor show with reserve champion pens and champion reserve titles noted for preservation of stock. The event highlighted cleanly kept cattle and strong breeding lines from Open Dorset Farms, emphasizing top placings and quality.

Brangus sale at the Texas Brangus Breeders Association show grossed 39905 for 74 head. Males averaged 615 with 50 counted and 24 females averaged 345. Top male sold for 2190 to Diamond M Acres. Top female brought 490 to Tejas Brangus Farm. Top buyer A R Eppes bought seven males for 4160.
