Britain Refuses to Add to Czech Loan Declared

London reports Czecho slovak legation officials state Britain will not supplement its loan of 16 million pounds to Czechoslovakia. The move is described as repudiation of Prime Minister Chamberlain's earlier promise in Parliament that Britain was prepared to arrange an advance of 10 million pounds. The relation of the advance to the final figure remains to be decided.

Nine San Antonio Sea Scouts Advance to Ordinary Rank

At the quarterly Sea Scout Bridge of Honor held at Scout headquarters, nine scouts were advanced from apprentice to ordinary rank under Sea Scout commissioner August Berchelmann. Recipients included Bam Baum, Gifford Glascock, and Frank Covell of Albatross Sea Scout Ship 7003, plus Ray Roth, John Meretz, Henry Taye, Pete Dillard, Roger Nuhn, and Roland Pehl of Hiying Duchmann Sea Scout Ship 7005. presentations were made by T E Ammold, a Seg Scout committee member, who received a quartermaster badge from Carl A Bryan, scout executive, as charters were presented by Frank DeParquale, skipper of Flying Dutchman Sea Scout Patrol fromiaides 7005 and Sea Scout Patrol Dolphin 7155.

The Weather Bureau noted reports for the week ended December 10 indicating conditions in parts of the Western Plains favoring bad dust storms into late winter and spring if winds rise, unless heavy rain or snow improves the outlook.
